David Hartz is a New York–based photographer, director, and producer. His work is rooted in curiosity and a lifelong fascination with observing and understanding the world around him. He partners with brands, agencies, and creative teams to create still and motion imagery through thoughtful production and image-making.
David believes great work grows from curiosity, clear communication, and genuine kindness. Born blind in one eye, he built a career around seeing anyway.
When he’s not on set, he’s tending a rooftop garden (and will likely bring you tomatoes or peppers if you’re lucky), building Japanese furniture, finding himself 50 miles from home on a bicycle, or having a meaningful conversation with anyone willing.
